‘lightthrower no.1’ is a large, hand-stitched, punch-needle art work created in 2025. This piece was a study in using stitch patterns to catch and throw the light in ways that change the appearance of the surface depending on the viewing position and the light conditions and changes throughout the day. Rendered in just two colors, white and a pale yellow, the surface reads matte to metallic depending on the light.

This piece has been exhibited in the following shows: Still Frame / New Castle, PA / The Atrium Gallery in partnership with The Hoyt Museum (2025-2026)

Materials: wools + raw linen + stained pine frame.

Treated with permethrin to protect wool from larvae.

Custom-framed and ready to hang.
